The Housing Policy Group is the newest of our working groups which held its first meeting in February 2017. The Group plans to tackle issues ranging from the national policy level, through regional- and county-level to local concerns.
The first major task for the group was to produce the Civic Society’s response to the Government’s White Paper on Housing, “Fixing our Broken Housing Market”. You can read more about it in this article.
Since then important new guidelines for calculating housing need have been proposed by the government. The Housing Policy Group will be assessing the implications of the proposed changes and will respond to the government’s consultation in October/November.
