Housing
The Housing Policy Group is the newest of our working groups. It tackles issues ranging from the national policy level, through regional- and county-level to local concerns.
The first major task for the group was to produce the Civic Society’s response to the Government’s White Paper on Housing, “Fixing our Broken Housing Market”. You can read more about it in this article.
Since then important new guidelines for calculating housing need have been proposed by the government. The Housing Policy Group has assessed the implications of the proposed changes and responded to the government’s consultation.
Its latest work is to assess the housing issues in Oxford City’s Local Plan Submission Draft (November 2018) and feed comments into the Society’s formal response.
You can download a two-sided A4 description of the Housing Group here.
