This site uses standard WordPress and Google Analytics cookies. Cookies are also stored if you fill in a form on this website. Google Analytics uses these to track visits to our site and your journey through it. WordPress uses cookies to control access, and any forms may use them to remember your data. You may delete and block these, but parts of the site may not work if you do so. By using our site you agree to the use of cookies by us.

Personal data

If you fill in a form or leave a comment on this website any personal data you choose to give us is sent to our hosting service’s server over a secure (HTTPS) link. Only specific people connected with Oxford Civic Society and who have been issued with a password can access this data.

We also hold personal data on Members collected through membership application forms. This data is collected and held offline.

Whether held online or offline you agree that we may use this data to send you information about the Society, to respond to your message(s) and generally to manage your relationship with the Society.

Use of personal data from Eventbrite

By using Eventbrite to register for one of our events you provide Eventbrite with certain personal data including but not limited to your email address. Under Eventbrite’s Privacy Policy you agree that Eventbrite passes this information to us as the Event Organisers. We in turn may use this personal data to check against our membership records and if you are not a member we may send you an email about membership of Oxford Civic Society. Unless you reply asking for more information or otherwise engage in an online conversation with us we will send no more than one such email per event.

Third parties

The postal addresses of Members who have asked to receive our newsletter ‘Visions’ and other documents by post are sent to our printers by encrypted file before any printed material is sent out. OCS is not responsible for the printer’s use of this data but our contracted printer has confirmed that they will hold our data securely, delete it when they have completed our processing and not pass it on to any third Party without our authorisation.

Other than as above, except in the highly unlikely circumstances of being required to do so by a Court of Law we will never pass your email address or any other personal information to anyone outside Oxford Civic Society.
For further information about how we collect, store, transmit and delete personal data please write to us at info@oxcivicsoc.org.uk
