Demolition of existing flat roof garage to erect a new pitched roof garage. Alterations to garden wall.
This application consists of a plan to make two flat-roofed garages (in same ownership) from a row of three flat-roofed units into one, with a pitched roof, on the grounds that the single garages do not allow room for modern vehicles. We would comment first that there would be very little more room if the dividing wall were to be demolished and that the double space would be furnished with a back door, windows etc. and could be used for living purposes. In addition, until a boundary dispute is sorted out, the changes may not be possible anyway and furthermore the row of three previously identical, if unremarkable, garages would look incongruous if these changes were to take place.
