Although the document labelled “Landscaping assessment” states: “Please see Site Plan for details on landscaping”, the Site Plan in fact shows no landscaping details. The proposed works potentially increase the accommodation available, whilst reducing by 50% the number of parking spaces provided. No details are provided of alternative parking provision, but it is likely that the development will lead to an increase in street parking, where the street layout is already convoluted. Consent should be conditional on it being satisfactorily demonstrated that the loss of parking will not be detrimental to local amenity and safety.
