UK Biobank: a bold experiment for health research

Professor Naomi Allen portraitUK Biobank was established to enable scientific discoveries to be made that improve human health. Naomi Allen (Professor of Epidemiology at the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford) has been involved in the UK Biobank project since 2011, becoming Chief Scientist in 2019. Professor Allen will describe the vast amount of data on genetic and lifestyle factors that has been collected (and continues to be collected) on half a million participants and how their health has been followed over many years by linking to healthcare records.
