All too often our comments on planning applications are critical but this is an inevitable part of the process. It’s one of the ways we try to influence Oxford’s environment for the better. So it is particularly pleasing when we can be enthusiastic about a new proposed development.

This is the case with Wadham College’s application (ref 17/02979/FUL) to demolish their existing Junior Common Room and Goddard Building and replace them with a new building incorporating an undergraduate centre and 20 accessible student bedrooms as well as other facilities.

Our planning assessors said “The overall design is refreshing and bold. We think that it is a good scheme and deserves to succeed”. You can read our full comments here.
