Land West Of 75 Town Furze Oxford OX3 7EW

16 November 2021

Erection of 2 x 4 bed dwellinghouses (Use Class C3). Provision of amenity space, car parking and bin stores. Associated landscaping, boundary treatments and ancillary works.

OCS fully supports the objections put forward by the Friends of the Lye Valley that the proposed development would destroy this exceptional site designated by Natural England as a SSSI fen in favourable condition.  It is the only site in Oxfordshire with this designation. In the Oxford Local Plan 2036 the site has given Green Infrastructure (GI) Network Designation which indicates that development should not be allowed. Aside from the many negative impacts this development represents, there are numerous shortcomings in the documentation and missing, unrealistic or inadequate reports. Over the years there have been a number of applications to develop this site and all have been rejected, some on appeal.  We feel there is nothing in this application that merits any decision other than it be rejected.
