The proposed house sits on a highly visible corner plot which was clearly not intended to be used for this purpose. Any house there would damage the street scene, but this design is particularly discordant given the style of existing buildings and layout of the roads. The applicants propose tree protection measures, but we remain concerned that construction work and subsequent changes on site will damage the trees to the point where some or all do not survive. These points, along with the loss of the open space, outweigh the benefit to the housing stock of a 1-bedroom house
