 Display of 3no. internally illuminated fascia signs, 1no. internally illuminated projecting sign, 1no. internally illuminated entrance sign and 3no. non-illuminated vinyl signs.

 

The application proposes 5 illuminated signs on this prominent corner in Headington. The Oxford Civic Society believes this number of illuminated signs is excessive in the context of Headington shopping centre. We suggest that the large signs high on the two main elevations should be permitted, but without illumination as they will still be extremely visible. The smaller illuminated sign projecting on the corner of the building serves little propose, as it will not be easily seen from the pavement on either of the streets and will just add unnecessary light to the area.
