Erection of a part single part two storey extension to north elevation. First floor extension to west elevation and alterations to existing dormer windows.

Although the principle of this development is acceptable, and there could be no objection to contemporary design, there is no evident justification for the excessively high mono-pitch roof to the proposed rear extension, which cuts across the windows to the rear box dormer. The similar, unnecessarily high mono-pitch roof to the proposed garage appears to serve no purpose and does nothing to improve the aesthetics of the building, whilst making it highly obtrusive. An additional point is that the application fails to detail the precise nature, colour, texture etc. of the proposed external materials. These design features would be detrimental to the character of the neighbourhood, and we would urge refusal of the application pending re-consideration.
