 Erection of a single storey side and rear extension. (Amended description)

The design of the proposed extension is exceedingly uncompromising and utilitarian. We consider that it would harm the character of the existing property, and that of neighbouring houses, and that it fails to meet policy requirements for applications to display qualities of good design. No details of the first floor accommodation are provided, but the proposals increase the number of bedrooms by two, to, probably, 4 or 5 in total, and it appears that the intention may well be to operate this property as a house in multiple occupation. In any event, no details are provided of either existing or proposed arrangements for off-street parking, but it appears likely that none is intended. We would urge refusal of this application on the grounds of poor design and inadequate parking arrangements, including for bicycles, and no provision for waste bin storage.
