Local Plan Consultation

Oxford City Preferred Options

29 June 2017

Consultation on the next stage of Oxford City’s Local Plan 2036 has begun. This is the ‘Preferred Options’ stage, where the City planners set out a full range of policies affecting the way the City will develop over the next 20 years and invite comment and discussion.

Consultation runs until 25 August. As well as the dedicated website a leaflet and questionnaire will be delivered to every household in Oxford, local community centres and libraries. Comments will be invited through the website, by email or letter. A roadshow will visit as many local events as possible; a pop-up shop staffed by officers will be open in Ship Street for a few days in July. Finally the city will be active on social media – facebook and twitter.

The Civic Society strongly supports the consultation process. We will of course be sending our own considered comments, but we encourage everyone, members of OCS or not, to take some time to look at the Preferred Options and comment. Even if you comment on just one or two aspects that particularly concern you, that will be better than keeping silent.
